Travel Program Tonight!!
I had a wonderful time at the Printers Row Lit Fest in Chicago this weekend (there are a few pictures up on Facebook already :), and I'm really excited about tonight's program, too, at the Waukegan Public Library! I'm giving a talk on Traveling in Europe -- complete with an Italian meal that the programs librarian and I are putting together (so much food!), a slideshow of fabulous sites across the pond and how visiting them influenced the writing of A Summer in Europe and a booksigning, too. So, if you're anywhere near the area and want to join in the fun tonight, please check out the details HERE! It's free and open to the public. I'll be in the Bradbury Room (yes, the incredible Ray Bradbury was once a resident...) from 5:30 - 7:30pm.
Also, a little FYI, According to Jane is the featured book this week on fellow Austen Author Sally Smith O'Rourke's blog Austenticity! Posted there is the longest free excerpt that's ever been online for the book (the prologue + the first 3 chapters) so, if you haven't read the story, you can take a peek at the beginning HERE!
Hope you're all having a fabulous start to the week ;-).

Although I know the company and information would be great, I'd come just for the food! I love Italian food and would be delighted to virtually follow you around Italy for an evening.
I'm glad that Printers Row was fun. I couldn't get away because my father in law was poorly (living with us now) so other duties called. I'll dash out to FB to look at your photos.
Have fun at the library event and TAKE PICTURES!
*waves and then hugs*
I wish I could be there. It sounds like a wonderful event!
I'm glad you had so much fun at Printer's Row, too.
Wow! That sounds like so much fun! I wish I could go! Hope you have/had a wonderful time!
Congratulations, too, on According to Jane being a featured book. It's so great that it's being recognized!
Pamala, *waves and hugs* back!! I miss getting to chat with you. I'm so sorry to hear about your father-in-law's poor health. I know that's really hard, and being in the caretaker role makes it even more so... Please know I'm thinking about you and I hope we'll be able to catch up soon. BTW, I took a lot of pictures from last night and will post them later this week or next!
Edie, since you already know some of the menu items from our FB conversation, I can tell you it was definitely less caloric to be a virtual attendee rather than an in-person one, LOL. The programs librarian is Italian-American, so between the two of us, we brought WAY a lot of food!!
Caryn, thank you!! I wish you could have jetted over to IL, too -- it's been so long since I've seen you in person! The night was really fun, although I slept late this morning an have much to catch up on now ;).
Wishing you three a fabulous week!
