Just a quick note to say CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of Eliza Daly's blog contest: Sandra, who won the Godiva chocolates, and Pamala Knight, who won a copy of Eliza's debut novel, UNDER HER SPELL!! Way to go, ladies!
I hope everyone's having a wonderful start to November. Me? I decided to kick off the month by trying this recipe from Tasty Kitchen for *baked* Apple Cider Doughnuts... ["Not fried" means you can eat more of them, right?! Yeah, that's what I thought, too!] All I'll say is YUM!!! And, well, if a picture's worth a thousand words, here are 3,000 ;).

All I'm saying is, you have my address and I haven't seen any care packages from you featuring these obviously tasty treats. That's all I'm saying. ;)
As for me, I have a busy week. Today, after church, I'm tackling our basement--or as I call it, 'the darkest, deepest pit of hell'. And all week I'm writing. Yep, you heard correctly. Back in the saddle. Hope you have a great one, Soul Sis! xoxo
The doughnuts look yummy. I'm writing this week, hopefully finishing the first draft of Miracle Pie. Hey, maybe the next book should be Miracle Doughnuts.
Yay for winning a copy of Eliza's book! I LOVE winning and my day would be complete if I could win a bakers dozen of those yummy looking doughnuts.
If you keep posting pictures of all the wonderful comestibles, Marilyn, you might just attract a hungry brood of folks just outside your window. All waiting for the oven door to open, lol.
Thanks again! *waves*
Ahhh, Jill! We'll have to make a trade, Soul Sis: I'll send you the apple cider doughnuts, but I'm not above reminding you that I'm partial to chocolate covered strawberries... *grin*
LOL, Edie!! I loved Stardust Miracle, so I'm sure Miracle Pie will be terrific. Of course, any story with a food I love in the title is a great idea. Doughnuts up next!! :)
Pamala, yay!!! Congrats on being one of the winners ;). I sent Eliza your email address when she told me you'd won, so you may have heard from her already. I hope you'll enjoy the story and that we'll be able to get together for baked treats sometime soon...
xoxox
Congratulations to the winners! Those donuts look DELICIOUS! Yum!r
I'm hopping on a plane and coming to your house for donuts! (I wish.)
Have a happy weekend! Hugs!
Caryn, thank you!!
They turned out all right... More like muffins than like donuts, but we still ate 'em ;).
Robin, I totally wish you would!! It'd be wonderful to see you again... Hope you have a fabulous weekend, too!
Those doughnuts look so yummy! And hey, if baking them means one can eat more, then I better start baking mine from now on! ;)
I'm going to have to try these! They look so good! I don't have the doughnut oven pan though.
Mmmm, these doughnuts look SO good! Thanks for sharing the recipe with us!
Jakki,
If I were as young and slim as you...I'd probably eat all of my doughnuts fried! But (sigh) that's so not the case for me, so baking is the next best thing ;).
Candy,
They ARE good!! I found the baking pan at Kmart for $9.99, and I was told they have them at Wal-mart, too...
Susan,
The pleasure was mine!!! If you try them, I hope you'll like them as well :-).
