Okay, I had to post pictures of this cake that my brother-in-law and sister-in-law brought to our house on Christmas Day -- it was just too creative not to share. On the left is the "before" shot...and, well, I'll bet you can figure out the "after" photo. (Who knew Frosty would be so VERY tasty?! :)
Hope you all had a delicious holiday, too! What was the most memorable thing you ate over the past few weeks?
And, now, Happy New Year! Hope the start of 2011 has been going well for you all. Today, I'm visiting my lovely blog pals at Get Lost in a Story, and the ever-awesome Maureen McGowan is hosting the interview there. Please jump on over and join us, if you have a chance!

What a cute cake. Happy New Year.
Ohmygosh! That cake is awesome! Happy New Year, Marilyn! I, uh, enjoyed way too much of everything over the holidays!
Thanks, Kwana!! A big, happy 2011 to you, too ;).
Robin, LOL...ohhh, I can relate to that! If something didn't actually run away from me over the holidays, I ate it :).
How cute! I love that cake. I want to adopt your in-laws. lol
I can't remember anything specific, though the peanut butter cookies my husband made probably added two pounds on me. I gained two more pounds eating other food. Back to eating less and moving more.
Frosty would be a goner at my house. I do love me some chocolate!
That cake is great! Though I admit I kind of like the second photo because it's so deliciously morbid.
Edie, I *love* peanut butter cookies, so I'm impressed by your restraint. Only 2 pounds from that?! Way to go!!! (I need to get back to the gym, too. ;)
LOL, Maria! It was *good* chocolate cake in that middle layer, too. The top and the bottom "snowballs" were vanilla cake, which was also moist and tasty, but the chocolate part was my hands-down favorite!
Caryn, Ohhh, I love your description: "deliciously morbid"!!! Thanks. Now I'm going to have to rewrite the words to "Frosty the Snowman" to include your inspired phrase ;-).
Cakes amaze me now-a-days!! LOVE IT! My sister had mini cakes on popsicle sticks, "pop cakes." They were the cutest mini cakes!
Oh, now I'm craving cake (and Frosty looks so tasty, too!)
Happy New Year, Marilyn--may 2011 be so awesome for you!!
Tonya, mini cakes on popsicle sticks?! How cool!!! I'll have to look that up online...my son would *love* something like that ;).
Happy New Year to you, too, dear Pamela!! Wishing you only the most wonderful things :-).
wow, that cake is amazing!
When I first saw the picture, I said "Wait, that's a cake?"
Wall-to-Wall Books~I *know*!! Didn't the cake decorator do an amazing job?! I'm in awe of people who are artistically talented like that ;). Thanks so much for stopping by, and Happy New Year!
That is the cutest cake ever! And it looked mighty tasty, too. (Okay, now I'm hungry for snowman cake. Do you think anyone has them half-price about now? Kidding! Um, sort of.) ;-)
I just had to say that I always come back to see your responses to my comments since you're so good about that, and my first thought upon seeing the second snowman picture (for the second time) was, "My goodness. That looks like a crime scene." I still love that photo!
Susan, it was really adorable to look at...I almost didn't want to cut into it. Not enough to stop me, though ;).
LOL, Caryn!! It *was* a crime scene in more than one sense :). It should've been illegal eating so many calories that night! All that chocolate cake, all that vanilla frosting...
