ACCORDING TO JANE and FRIDAY MORNINGS AT NINE author Marilyn Brant's THE GRAND EUROPEAN, the story of a conservative young woman's journey of self-discovery as she travels abroad with her adventurous aunt's sudoku-and-mahjong club, to John Scognamiglio at Kensington, by Nephele Tempest at The Knight Agency.

Squeeeeee!!!

The copy edits for FRIDAYS are now en route to New York...I'm still working on finishing up my RITA judging (due Tuesday!), but I'm getting there...and the book proposal I've been hoping--and hoping--would get approved by my publisher just sold yesterday ;-). Thanks to my agent, my editor, my CPs/writing friends and to all of you. I can say--with nary a hint of understatement--that this has been a pretty wild week.

Also, I've had a series of questions haunting me since my first sale, almost 2 years ago: Would the second time around be as thrilling? As emotional? As anxiety producing? As overwhelming? As wondrous?

Short answer: Yep.

Congratulations!!! Great news for a Friday. Or any day! Love the title, too. :)

Marilyn Brant said...

Pamala~thank you!!!!! Can't wait to see you Monday and collect a hug in person :).

Edie~thanks so much! I really like the title, too, which in no way guarantees it won't be changed--LOL. I'd originally given it to another book of mine that I'd started years ago (totally different plot, but also set in Europe)...but when I came up with this story idea, I realized I wasn't getting any closer to finishing that first novel, so I snitched its title to use here instead!

Congratulations!! The story sounds great! My mom's been trying to get me to play mahjong with her and her Friday mahjong group, but I just haven't had the time.

Have a wonderful weekend! ((Hugs))

Yippee! Thanks, Pamela ;).

Robin~I know the sudoku stuff, but my mahjong knowledge is still pretty scant! My husband plays, though, and has promised me lessons. (I just think the tiles are really cute... :-)

Nancy, thank you!! I'm very excited and, you know, also finding new things to worry about--LOL.

Thanks to everybody who took time to comment here or send me email messages--you're all so wonderful! Hope you have a GREAT weekend!!

Congratulations! What an amazing accomplishment and such excitement that you must be feeling right now. I purchased "According to Jane" at the airport a few months ago and devoured it. I know you will have great success with all your books if they are as good.

Tonya~thank you! Although, I think the only "explosion" might be my waistline from all the chocolate I've been eating this year--LOL!

Eliza~can't wait to see you on Monday night, too!!! ;)

Emma~oh, thank you! And your comment made my day--I'm so glad you enjoyed Jane! YOUR novel, Longbourn's Unexpected Matchmaker, is one of my Jane Austen Challenge books!! I've so been looking forward to reading it :-).

Middle Ditch/Monique~thank you so much! I'm trying to relax a little more this time around (ha! I'm not succeeding yet :), but I'm really thrilled by it...

Maria!!!! Thank you ;). This week was busy but great. I pretty much thought the stress was gonna do me in last month, though... Now it's just all about writing 300 more pages that (ideally and hopefully!) make sense--LOL. Have you turned your latest in??
