It's really cold and snowy over here. In my attempt at adjusting to winter (#fail), I just can't seem to get over this very simple fact: I like warm temperatures. Not hot, humid and hair-frizzing temps, but warm. And today...wasn't that.
In other news, a winner was chosen on Christmas Day for the big Super Secret Santa Giveaway on the 007's Nobody Writes It Better blog (although my contest here still runs until the noon on the 31st!). I am, however, the blogger of the day with the 007 gang, so I hope you'll join me there for a few post-holiday reflections as the year ends.
I'll be back here on the 31st with the winning name for my December contest and a longish, semi-reflective post on the subject of criticism and writers, which is where my end-of-the-year thoughts have been leading me... Hope all has been going well for you in your corner of the planet. :-)

We've been getting snow, snow, snow every day. Tomorrow is supposed to be better. And ours is just inches and not feet, so I shouldn't complain.
If we had a guest room that hadn't already been turned into a writing space (or two), you could come stay with us for the winter!
Edie, it just keeps coming, doesn't it? I *knew* I should've moved to Antigua or the Barbados when I had the chance--LOL! All of this "being a responsible adult" stuff after college, getting a job, staying near family...what was I thinking?!
Pamela, since I know you know what Chicago winters are like, it's enough (well, most of the time) to just feel understood by my warm-climate friends (*wink*). However, don't think I'm not also checking out flights to the SW online...
Marilyn, wish I could send some warmth in a bottle to you, but since I can't, I'm sending warm thoughts that you have wonderful last week of 2009!
And seriously, my door is *always* open to you! Although I'm a bit chilly too. It's only like 65 today. ;) (Ducking under chair - sorry! When you're a CA native, that's cold.)
LOL, Robin!!! 65 degrees... (muttering to myself and wondering how far I can lob a snowball in the direction of California ;) Hugs to you, my dear! Please enjoy some of the "cold" CA air for me. Sending you warm wishes from a frozen land.
Love that penguin! Enjoy the rest of the year and we'll see you when you get back, Marilyn dear.
We have some sun here, but it's not that warm sun thing that happens in summer. :(
Just finished your novel and loved it! So fun!
Pamala~Glad you liked my penguin friend! He looks as chilly as I feel :).
Wendy~Hello and thank you!! I'm thrilled you enjoyed the book and took a moment to stop by! Happy New Year ;-).
